Blogging Comments Systems. Suggestions???

Hello, dear readers! I am opening the floor to suggestions on new blogging comment systems. I want to be able to comment back to you but want a good system in place to do so. If you are like me, you don't want to subscribe to ALL comments and fill up your inbox with comments you may or may not want to read. I have looked into Disqus and IntenseDebate but have also heard some bloggers/readers have had bad luck with these systems. Do you have any suggestions for me? I feel commenting back to all of your sweet comments is very important. But I want to implement a good system that works for all of us. THANKS in advance for your suggestions!

I use Disqus on mine and overall like it very well. It definitely took my readers awhile to get used to it. But I do love the ease with which I can communicate back and forth with people without bogging them down in all the comments!

I'm not sure exactly what's out there...I just wanted to drop by and say "Hi!" I feel like it's been awhile! :)

I saw this on my twitter - which I just started (seed2sunflower) and I hopped on over to blog frog to your community. I am really interested in this discussion as well so thanks for starting it. I have wondered about the comment thing as well. Like you, my comment section is not right on the same page as my post - you need to click on it and it opens in a new page. I wonder how people have it right on the same page to make it easy for people to comment? That may be something we both look into? idk how?? Also, I love when people comment too and do try to comment back as much as possible. I wonder though for people who have hundreds or even thousands of followers how anyone would get anything else done.?? Thanks again for this and I look forward to hearing more discussion!

I heard many people say to turn off the word verification too. I don't know how others feel - if that helped for more comments or not - but thought I would mention since you have it on. They all said they were more likely to leave a comment if it wasn't on... because it was just another step to have to go through.

I turned off word verification on mine. The one thing that I don't care for with Disqus and Comment Luv is that you have to start accounts with each. It seems like we have enough accounts with everything relating to blogging, that it's made me consider how badly I want to leave a comment (if I need to sign up for something new).

I've always thought Disqus was fine, although I have heard others say there were problems as well.

    Hi there,
I am visiting your blog for the first time and just happened to jump into this post.

At first when I started playing around with Disqus I didn't LOVE it.........

Then I gave it another shot & absolutely love it. Girls can sign in from their Disqus account, twitter, orfacebook. And the best part is I can reply to every comment and they will see it because the response gets e mailed to them. NOT ALL RESPONSES, just what I replied to them.

YAY for Disqus. I say go try it out.

Thanks everyone for the comments! I'm enjoying the feedback! I am going to turn off word verification and I've tried to set the blogger options to keep the comments visible but for some reason, they occasionally go to the separate page. Not sure why. The only thing I don't like about Disgus or IntenseDebate (the only 2 I've looked into thus far) are that you have to sign up for an account or leave a comment as a "guest" and I wasn't sure how many people would be put off by that. What to do? Still looking at options! I definitely want to be able to communicate with my readers better!
